In NSW, the recent Labor win over Liberal (for the first time in 12 years), has brought about some changes to be aware of. The new government has more of a major focus on traditional pillars, including Education and Health. This means they’re cutting back on programs they feel won’t deliver tangible benefits for citizens, and leaves them grappling with knowing where to invest funds while also balancing the need to remain committed to digitally transforming our economy.
What does this all mean for the tech talent market? With the government likely to become more frugal with their tech spend, big-bang digital projects are out and smaller, more digestible projects that add clear value over time are in.
