Senior SAS Developer - Australian Leading Bank

Senior SAS Developer needed to maintain & deliver Risk data assets required for reporting & insights. You will solve complex data problems in a simple, scalable & re-usable manner that'll provide ease of use to Risk reporting & insights analysts.

THE ROLE

• Engage with data analysts to understand data requirements documented & develop design artefacts.
• Lead the delivery of data solutions that meet business objectives and data needs.
• Produce efficient, reliable and maintainable, enterprise grade data solutions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of ETL principles, database design & development.
• Create software code that extracts data from multiple source systems, combines and transforms them as necessary to load into local data marts.
• Create powerful data visualisation that meets customer needs.
• Ensure data assets on Tableau server are refreshed and error free to enable easy access to Risk information for our business to make data driven decisions through Tableau.
• Create unit test data & perform unit tests to ensure that the code performs under all expected conditions.
• Tune / profile data for performance.
• Build data checks and reconciliation checks required to ensure quality of data solution delivered.
• Assist data analysts in testing data solutions for their validity & accuracy.

THE PERSON

• Demonstrable experience in a data-centric role for development or analytics.
• Experience working in financial services.
• Proficiency in SAS, R, SQL, PL/SQL, Hive & UNIX shell scripting.
• Proficiency in relational databases such as Teradata, big data platforms, such as Hadoop and visualisation tools such as Tableau.
• Proficiency in COGNOS, SSIS / Informatica & LSF / Control M / Autosys.
• Good communication skills
