Our client, a NSW Government Department are searching for an ICT Business Analyst to join a fast-paced team delivering multiple projects for the benefit of the people of NSW.

Role: Business Analyst
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 6 months from start date.

Daily Rate: $950 - $1000 per day + Super.
Location: Parramatta (with occasional travel to Orange where the team is based). Living in Orange or other NSW locations is possible for this role.

The role:

  • Involves working with clients and other stakeholders to facilitate innovation and drive projects in operations and shared service delivery.
  • Develop and implement all aspects of project development and implementation across a portfolio of projects. This includes preparing client agreed requirements, project and resourcing plans, establishing appropriate governance, identifying, allocating and managing resources, and meeting reporting requirements. This ensures project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and in line with the Agency project management methodology.
  • Manage and oversee system improvement projects to enhance the quality-of-service provision and the client's ability to effectively deliver business outcomes.
  • Apply continuous improvement techniques and methodologies to solve problems and build new capabilities across varied projects.
  • Monitor, plus evaluate all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, project impact and quality measures.
  • Create new, review and adjust existing, relevant Business Services policies and implement in accordance with the established governance model.
  • Undertake research and formulate recommendations to support evidence-based project planning and decision making.
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure project deliverables are met.

Some Key challenges:

  • Managing consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines, given their varying expectations, viewpoints and interests.
  • Achieving project deadlines and milestones for multiple projects which are often complex and interconnected.
  • Identifying issues, which have the potential to impact on Business Services performance or reputation and making recommendations or taking action to ensure these are addressed.
