Senior Data Business Analyst

Sr. Business Analyst Data Risk Controls - 12 month contract

Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in data anlaytics in SQL is needed for the Data Risk Controls and Enterprise Information Management team focusing on Basel III /[ Basel 3 program. Responsible for requirements gathering for data flow, data quality and engagement with stakeholders on delivery of critical data elements. Ensure adherence to Enterprise Information Management documentation in line with industry standard DAMA DMBOK. Have good understanding of APRA CPG235 data risk guidelines, concepts of CDEs, data quality concepts covering data risk dimensions.

Responsibilities in the role will include:

• Ability to support the execution of various project activities including gathering data requirements, analysing data, documenting processes and data controls for compliance.
• Manage and collate data flow received from different sources and formats into standardised Enterprise Information Management (EIM) templates.
• Provide ongoing support/ cadence to metadata documentation i.e. Glossary, Ontology & Taxonomy for Data Elements. Collating Data Quality Rules, Data Quality Measures and master data management processes.
• Ensure data risk/ control gaps and data quality issues are appropriately documented and mapped to source system and CDE for auditability.
• Monitor and report on status of sprints, task risks, issues and progress towards milestones and deliverables. Ensure task dependencies over streams are appropriately identified and managed.

Working as the interface of business and technology teams, you will also possess:

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel or SQL and data analysis and an overall experience within data management.
• An understanding of Enterprise Data Management and data quality concepts in line with DAMA DMBOK industry standard.
• Analytical and have demonstrated experience in effective problem solving
• Good documentation & presentation skills
• Experience in using Confluence and Jira task board for sprint, minutes, actions and status updates.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Data Cataloguing and business Intelligence tool experience is an advantage, for example Alex, Informatica and PowerBI/ Tableau.
