Senior Business Analyst - Financial Markets

Talenza have been engaged by one of Australia's Big 4 Banks to source a strong Senior Business Analyst to work on a exciting project in Financial Markets

The Role

This project presents a fantastic opportunity for candidates with strong regulatory reporting and data management skills looking to make their mark in Financial Markets. This role is being created to strengthen an existing high performing team who drive and oversee the implementation of a third-party technology platform for derivative post trade reporting obligations.

The Candidate will work on, but not limited to the following tasks:

• Work closely with the Business, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Technology SMEs to elicit, analyse, document, and validate business requirements relating to the strategic reporting solution
• Engage with key stakeholders to understand and stay up to date on key derivative post trade reporting demands
• Produce business requirements, data mapping specifications, and other relevant project artefacts
• Actively manage defined business and reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle to meet business needs
• Partner closely with Business and Technology stakeholders to identify reporting gaps relevant to strategic reporting solution
• Partner closely with the 3rd party stakeholders to ensure the requirements are understood and addressed in the solution via traceability matrix, functional specifications, and test coverage
• Provide continuous improvement recommendations and solution options throughout the solution design process
• Define and capture the "As Is" and "To Be" analysis
• Support testing, training, and implementation activities to ensure the successful delivery of the overall solution
• Collaborate and address stakeholder feedback to ensure all aspects of the solution have been reviewed and conflicts are managed
• Identify risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle to ensure impacts on the overall solution delivery are managed accordingly

The Candidate will have:

• Ability to perform root cause analysis
• Ability to derive solution options and drive to achieve a desirable outcome for the business
• Ability to analyse and interrogate large data sets through standard tools (Excel, Access, or SQL)
• Ability to document business requirements, "As Is" and "To Be" analysis
• Ability to demonstrate strong business analysis skills, running requirements workshops and walkthroughs with the business, technology, and 3rd party stakeholders
• Experience on regulatory projects and have appreciation for requirements traceability
• Experience in contributing to solution design and impact assessment
• Experience in both Business and Functional analysis
• A solid track record of stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate appropriately with both Business and Technology
• A good understanding of financial markets, with good knowledge of at least one derivatives asset class is desirable
• An understanding of regulatory reporting such as EMIR, CFTC, ASIC, MAS and CANADA is an advantage but not a must
