Talenza are partnering with a specialist Underwriting Agency in the search for a Senior Business Analyst in order to support them in their continuous efforts to grow and conquer the Broker market.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Investigates operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.
  • The adoption and adaptation of requirements management lifecycle models based on the context of the work and selecting appropriately from plan-driven/predictive approaches or more adaptive (iterative and agile) approaches.
  • Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for small-scale changes and assists with more complex change initiatives.
  • Follows agreed standards, applying appropriate techniques to elicit and document detailed requirements.
  • Provides constructive challenge to stakeholders as required.
  • Prioritises requirements and documents traceability to source.
  • Reviews requirements for errors and omissions.
  • Provides input to the requirements baseline. Investigates, manages and applies authorised requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.
  • Assists in the analysis of stakeholder objectives, and the underlying issues arising from investigations into business requirements and problems and identifies options for consideration.
  • Works with stakeholders, to identify potential benefits and available options for consideration, and in defining acceptance tests.
  • Contributes to selection of the business analysis methods, tools and techniques for projects; selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
  • The negotiation of trade-offs that are both acceptable to key stakeholders and within budgetary, technical, regulatory, and other constraints.
  • specifying and validating requirements and constraints to a level that enables effective development and operations of new or changed software, systems, processes, products or services

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Understanding of Insurance Applications such as broking systems, distribution platforms sunrise, SVU, iclose etc, platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Technical knowledge/skills:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Window products.
  • Eliciting and analysing requirements - both functional and non-functional
  • Ensuring that customer requirements and priorities are accurately reflected and documented
  • Organising and prioritising requirements using techniques such as - but not limited to - product roadmaps, epics, user stories and backlogs
  • Comfortable in negotiating trade-offs that are acceptable to key stakeholders and within budgetary, technical, regulatory, and other constraints
  • Adopting and adapting requirements management life cycle models.
  • Experience in business process design and re-engineering and workflow analysis
