Our client the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment are hiring for a Project Officer to join the Executive Director's Unit, within the Climate Change and Sustainability Division. The successful candidate will be working in a high volume, quick-paced environment and possess the ability to build relationships and always maintain professionalism. The role deals with competing priorities, complex issues and sensitive matters on a daily basis.

Role Title: Project Officer

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 28/10/22 with a chance of extending.

Pay: $455 + Super p.d (7 hour work day)

Location: Parramatta/WFH Hybrid

Description:
Skills required:
* Develop and coordinate projects and provide guidance and technical support to facilitate the delivery of projects.
* Provide technical input and guidance to support internal and external customers to build capacity and to foster skills transfer and knowledge exchange of staff in relation to projects.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement sound operational approaches and provide guidance on new systems and procedures.
* Play a role in the achievement of performance targets through monitoring of productivity and performance of objectives and associated resources.
* Prepare and present reports, submissions, briefing notes and ministerial correspondence on a range of operational issues. Ensure all correspondence is drafted in accordance with government protocols.

Key challenges:
* To ensure all project practices are compliant and have appropriate governance.
* Planning and prioritising work in a high-volume business environment to meet conflicting and critical deadlines with minimal day to day guidance with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail as well as contributing to the team environment and adapting to changing priorities as needed.
* To operate in a multi-disciplinary team whilst playing a key role in the coordinated delivery of Division-wide and high-quality programs.

Essential requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge of the operational and strategic requirements for the successful delivery of divisional projects in the context of government policies, processes and procedures and stakeholder attitudes.

Candidates must be based in the Greater Sydney Area.
Candidates must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
