Project Manager: IT Infrastructure Transition - NSW Government
Location: Macquarie Park, Sydney, with great WFH flexibility
Rate: $1000 per day + Super
Contract Length: 12 months with probable extension
Note: Must have demonstrated experience in Service Management/Service Transition Management in a Managed Service Environment. Government experience preferable.

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager: IT Infrastructure Transition for our NSW Government client who will be responsible for the management of changes to IT Services, ensuring effective controls are in place to reduce of risk to the availability, performance, security and compliance of the business services impacted by any changes.

We are looking for someone who can 'hit the road running' and liaise with project teams, operational teams and project stakeholders when developing the operational models for new projects.

Keys To Role:
1. 10+ years' overall PM experience with end-to-end delivery lifecycle experience. From RFP, all the way to operational acceptance and project closure; overlapping is OK, if in multiple roles
2. 3+ years' PM experience in a highly visible and high pressure role, managing multiple workstreams with an MSP, reporting into a Program Director or above
3. 3+ years' PM experience within a reputed Tier 1 Managed Service Provider or Systems Integrator
4. PM in at least 2 ITSM or Service Transition programs, integrating Service Management and Operational Support tools such as Remedy and Service Now
5. PMP/Prince 2/Professional PM certification held for at least 5 years
6. ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, CMMi and Cloud Practitioner certificates are highly desirable
7. Fluent in Program Governance, RAID, Critical Path Analysis, Resource levelling and WBS
8. Familiar with Process Mapping, AS-IS, TO-BE, gap analysis, swim lanes and UML (especially Use Case Diagrams)
9. Hands-on skills in planning, scheduling and collaboration tools including Planner, Visio, JIRA, Confluence, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
10. Articulate and succinct, with attention to detail in presentation and formatting

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage the planning and delivery of complex and/or large projects to produce the solution deliverables.
  • Manage permanent and/or ad hoc teams to ensure project outcomes are achieved
  • Develop and implement project management plans to ensure the success of the project
  • Regularly communicate with key stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are met
  • In applicable areas of the business, responsibility for revenue and profit objectives of the project.
  • Execute a wide range of process activities beginning with the request for proposal through development, test and final delivery.
  • Identifies, estimates and presents cost, budget, schedule and business / technical risk for the project committing multiple resources.
