Market Implementation / Public Policy Manager - NSW Government
Location: Parramatta, Sydney, with great WFH flexibility
Rate: $800 - $815 per day + Super
Contract Length: 6months
Note: Must have extensive experience in policy development and implementation

We are currently seeking an experienced Implementation Policy Manager for our NSW Government client who will be responsible for manageing the implementation of new policies that improve the functioning of the Departments training market.
Particular areas of focus are: designing support programs for disadvantaged students, addressing thin markets and price setting for qualifications. The role would suit a person with a strong track record in policy development and policy implementation.

Keys to Role:
- Must have extensive experience in policy development and implementation and leading teams.

Key accountabilities
* Plan and deliver changes to the operation of the NSW training market to ensure Government priorities are met.
* Engaged with stakeholders to ensure a customer focused approach to delivering change.
* Monitor the NSW Market and make recommendations for adjustments to the market settings to ensure the Government's objectives and priorities for vocational education and training are met.
* Provide timely, accurate, strategic advice on issues and trends in the performance of the market to inform decision making and the development of further reforms.
* Represent the Department in negotiations with other areas in the Department, State Government Departments, external agencies and other sectors in relation to the management of the market.
* Oversight the preparation of quality evidence-based written reports and correspondence.
* Foster collaborative team-based work practices to ensure deliverables meet quality expectations and comply with policies, timeframes and budget.

Key challenges
* Influencing, shaping and aligning organisational outcomes by establishing short to mid-term operational plans and building effective relationships with high profile stakeholders who often have divergent views.
* Managing complex and sensitive market management issues and providing considered, strategic advice in relation to market adjustments within tight timeframes.
* Keeping abreast of current and emerging trends, policy and legislative reforms in the area of vocational education and training.
