ICT Project Manager - NSW Government
Location: Parramatta, Sydney, with great WFH flexibility
Rate: $700 - $720 per day + Super
Contract Length: 6 months
Note: Must have extensive experience in managing small to medium technical projects in a large and complex service industry organisation, including relevant project management qualifications or equivalent

We are currently seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager for our NSW Government client who will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of a project within the agreed timeframes, budget, quality and resources to deliver the organisations objectives.

The Project Manager - ICT coordinates the risk, quality and progress of small/medium ICT projects to organisational
standards, and ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope.

Keys to Role:
1. Extensive experience in managing small to medium technical projects in a large and complex service industry
organisation, including relevant project management qualifications or equivalent. This includes extensive
knowledge and demonstrated experience ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality
standards and within agreed scope.
2. Project Management Qualifications (PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile) with extensive experience in project managing
large/complex projects.

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience managing and overseeing key aspects of projects management and
implementation, including developing and monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, reporting, issue
and risk management and managing budgets.
- Proven capacities to develop and implement initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change, improve
performance and project manage.
- Well-developed analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret information from numerous sources,
prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused
solutions.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional
environment with proven capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve business goals, perform and always work
with a customer focused approach.
- Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills with previous experience engaging, collaborating and
influencing key stakeholders and customers to influence and achieve optimal business outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to staff and effectively manage operational issues to ensure continuous effective service delivery and a performance based, innovative, responsive and accountable customer focused work culture.
- Integration and balance of the overall project management functions of scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement to deliver the project objectives that are aligned with organisational goals, strategies and objectives.
- Agree scope of the project and managing the application of project scope controls.
- Development, implementation and maintenance of the project schedule to deliver the project within agreed timeframes, resources and budget.
- Identification, analysis and refinement of project costs to produce a budget, utilise this budget as the principal mechanism to control project cost.
- Managing all expenditure to ensure alignment with agreed budget cash flow and completion of deliverables.
- Ensuring compliance with the financial management principles and policies of the Department.
- Quality of projects including determining quality requirements, implementing quality assurance processes, and using review and evaluation to make quality improvements in current projects and recommending improvements for future projects.
- Human Resource Management (HRM) within projects including planning for human resources requirements, identifying and co-ordinating any project specific training and education, monitoring project staff performance and managing the project team and stakeholders.
- Communication that links people, ideas and information at all stages in the project life cycle. This includes managing the timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage, evaluation and disposal of project information through formal structures and processes to facilitate the achievement of project objectives.
- Any procurement and contract management within the project. This includes determining procurement requirements, establishing agreed procurement processes, conducting contracting and procurement activities and managing finalisation processes. Contract management includes monitoring vendor delivery of deliverables within agreed timeframe, cost and quality.
- All project reporting requirements, complying with eHealth NSW project management principles and practices and ensuring escalation and management of all project risks, issues and change controls.
- Managing all expenditure to ensure alignment with agreed budget cash flow and completion of deliverables.
