Talenza have been engaged to source a Head of Operational Readiness for one of the most exciting payments organisations in Australia. This role will report to the CEO and form part of the senior leadership team.

The key thing that underpins this role is that the payments platform/ product has the ability to scale with the acceleration of their customer base. What has made them great and what is allowing them to win market share is their superior customer service, customer experience and the ease of the customer integration.

As the Head of Operational Readiness you will be the assurance to the business that the right processes, procedures are in place to make sure the technology and business are set for the continual growth & scale planned.

About the role

The Head of Operational Readiness will work across all facets of the business, which is focused on delivering value to customers through partnering with them to achieve great performance outcomes.

As the Head of Operational Readiness you will lead a team of cross functional IT/ service/ operation professionals to collaborate across the business and deliver strategic business outcomes through effective governance, architectural alignment, expert project planning to deliver a robust technology payments platform.

In this role you will design and drive the development and implementation of the organisation-wide Information Technology Strategic Service Plan and drive the realisation of solutions. This includes overseeing the development and adoption of a robust systems architecture and roadmap which details the data required to deliver the most scalable & robust platform.

In this role you will

  • Ensure, on an ongoing basis, that current and planned data, applications and technical architecture, investments and solutions are aligned with company business objectives.
  • Achieve the strategy and associated roadmaps, through confident and frequent consultation and communication with the business, across all levels including Executive
  • Be the first point of contact for new business concepts and initiatives, developing processes that support open communication, with predictable engagement and decision points
  • Project management, with responsibility for both the overarching technology program of projects, but also the governance framework to support consistent and informed IT decision making
  • Maintain a focus on risk management, and ensure relevant requirements are adhered to and a culture fostered that supports our risk appetite
  • Maintain the Governance Framework, and continually improve the business approach based upon feedback and best practice
  • Continue to evolve relevant technology strategies via frameworks and tools that leverage industry trends, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the architecture roadmap

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in a business/technology discipline required
  • Extensive experience in managing teams with strategy and project delivery focus.
  • Exceptional communication, problem solving and cross-group collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrable track record of effectively managing a complex range of stakeholders and 3rd party vendors.
  • Excellent writing, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Thought innovator - proven ability to stay abreast of technology innovation, external trends in the market and ability to identify its potential for the future evoltion of the payements business
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire and motivate a high performing technology team that values transparency and accountability.
