Talenza have been engaged by one of Australia's leading Fintech companies to source a Head of Credit Risk, they aim to delight by providing innovation, simplicity, transparency, and clarity in products that their customers love.

The Role:

As one of Australia's leading Fintech companies, they are blazing a trail in data, digital and design and are looking for a Head of Credit Risk to join their team as they continue a remarkable growth trajectory. This is a permanent opportunity based in Sydney's CBD.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, manage the Credit Enterprise Risk Framework, including credit risk policies, responsible lending policies and other related procedures.
  • Development and successful delivery of credit policy and policy simplification.
  • Oversight of portfolio credit quality - assessing new business against Credit Risk Appetite
  • Build and maintain a quality assurance program conducting both hind sighting and real time reviews.
  • Credit reporting to Risk Committee or Exco (as needed).
  • Be at the forefront of emerging practice/industry developments.
  • Provide SME guidance on new services/products.
  • Build strategic relationships across the business, providing insights and advice.

Skills & Experience Needed:

  • Substantial Credit Risk Management experience within a banking or financial services organisation.
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage lending with proven ability to assess credit quality and make good underwriting decisions.
  • Demonstrated pragmatic approach with sound understanding of responsible lending obligations.
  • Experience in or an evident passion for Fintech.
  • Fast learner and dots connector - able to take grey and turn it into black and white.
  • Team player through and through - leave your ego at the door, be prepared to challenge, and be challenged, hold your opinions lightly and work together with others to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • An eye for detail, strong communication skills and a relentless desire to do whatever it takes to do the job well.
