Our client the NSW Department of Education are hiring for a highly capable Financial Analyst to join. In this role you will provide services relating to compliance-based financial reporting, auditing, insolvency and accounting information systems; and advise on associated record-keeping requirements. This role is responsible for the efficient delivery of asset accounting activities for internal/external customers within a shared services environment.


Role Title:
Financial Analyst.

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 3 months with a chance of extension.

Pay: $448 + Super p.d.

Location: WFH/Parramatta.

Description:
Key accountabilities:

  • Support the team leadership and manage the operational activities of the team to ensure successful financial processing and reporting outcomes.
  • Provide quality service to external customers through liaison with the Shared Service Centre Contact Centre, business units and vendors or other stakeholders to resolve financial and system related issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate staff in a team to ensure transactional process activities are completed successfully to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Access the Department's financial systems to analyse and resolve transactional issues related to the operations of the unit.
  • Monitor and review the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions entered into accounting systems to ensure the integrity of the unit's financial databases and information.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice and support to staff on financial policy and procedures, relevant legislation and operating service standards including the training and development of staff in the unit.
  • Provide financial advice and support to business units on period end and year end activities.

Key challenges:

  • Prioritising a range of tasks in a high-volume work area to meet deadlines.
  • Learning and applying new process changes quickly.
  • Providing training and support to staff within a transitional workplace.


About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Administration, Finance and Accounting or a relevant discipline, and/or demonstrated successful experience in stakeholder/customer engagement in a Shared Services/Contact Centre environment.
  • Proven experience across a range of accounting and finance functions, with a sound knowledge of accounting principles and standards, financial data processing and reporting.


Candidates must be based in the Greater Sydney Area.
