Our client has embarked on large scale change through M&A activities and due to this large transformation are in the process of forming a centralised EPMO. We are partnering with this large financial services organization to find an experienced PMO Director to establish and operate the PMO for several significant Programs of work. Due to the M&A activity, this would suit a PMO Director who has worked in divestment/separation programs previously or similar Programs. The spend is extremely large and will have established a PMO previously in a large matrix structured organization, ideally a bank.

The successful candidate will have an extensive EPMO toolkit to lean on having plied their trade on large programs/portfolios of work and being highly structured with an eye for detail. This role will be attractive to the people who want to be central to transformation and can influence senior stakeholder with both strong communication skills and being able to outline how effective management of complex program scheduling, financial and resource management and deliverable management enables delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and operating the PMO for a significant program of works.
  • Refining some of the existing enterprise-level PMO practices in line with changing requirements
  • Establishing best practices and frameworks in line with changing requirements
  • Leading a team of PMO Managers and Consultants.

    Skills and experiences needed:
  • Track record of successfully providing Program PMO services for large transformational programs (M&A would be highly desirable)
  • Proven ability with management of complex program scheduling, financial and resource management and deliverable management
  • Considerable experience in governance and leadership to drive delivery outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence and drive a strategic agenda
  • Strong references from previous employers and client sponsors
  • High energy levels to ensure successful project delivery or turnaround success
  • Natural team building skills and demonstrated leadership experience
